Book & Book Chapters

  1. The Politics of Oil behind Sino-Japanese Energy Security Strategies, Asia Paper, Stockholm: The Institute for Security and Development Policy, March 2008.

Since the mid-1990s, energy security has been one of the top issues in Sino-Japanese relations. However, it is insufficient to illustrate the tensions in the bilateral relationship through energy alone. This paper argues that to China and Japan, political concerns have always been in command over energy security strategies.

  2. Chinese Foreign Policy Think Tanks and China’s Policy Towards Japan, The Chinese University Press, Hong Kong, March 2006

Being the first research of its kind, this book has studied the role of Chinese foreign policy think tanks in China's Japan policy-making process over the past fifty years. Applying decision-making theories as the framework, the book has examined the style change in China's foreign policy decision-making and the role of Chinese international relations think tanks through empirical case-studies.
