Professor Giuditta Cordero Moss is a part-time Senior Research Fellow and an Honorary Lecturer at the CEPMLP and, presents a course of lectures on International Business Law. She is an associate professor at the law faculty of the University of Oslo, Norway, in charge of international commercial law, private international law and comparative law.
Born in Italy and now living in Norway Professor Moss gained her law degree cum laude with full marks from the University of Rome in 1984. She completed her Ph.D in Law at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow in 1995 and four years later graduated from the University of Oslo as Dr. juris. A native Italian speaker she also has excellent English and Russian as well as qualifications in both Norwegian and German.
She is been practicing as an international lawyer since 1985, for a number years as an in-house counsel to FIAT S.p.A., Italy and Norsk Hydro ASA, Norway, and later as a partner in Norwegian law firms. Her main areas of practice are international commercial contracts, international litigation, project financing and business projects in the Former Soviet Union.
She visits and presents lectures in numerous European Universities and Institutions, and she was in 2002 Director of Studies at the Hague Academy of International Law.
She is member of a series of organisations and networks, among others the Commission on Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Norwegian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Nordic Group for Private International Law, the European Research Group on Existing EC Private Law.
Teaching
International Commercial Contracts (On-Campus)
The course aims at providing an understanding of the legal framework that governs international business transactions and thus limits the possibility of the parties to regulate their relationship or to ensure that the transaction is governed by a set of rules fully agreeable to them.
