Research

I graduated in Mining Engineering from Indian School of Mines in 1986 and after a brief stint in production activities; earned an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in 1990. Having had a rich experience in international raw materials (ores, metals and ferro alloys) commerce and mining investments (acquisitions, project development etc) over two decades, I chose to research the economic impact of depletion of Earth's metallic mineral resources with a view to quantitatively demonstrate how technological advancements offset the impact of resource depletion and degradation, across metals.

Specific Mineral sector productivity trends are analyzed through an independently developed Tech-residual based algorithm to measure the impacts of the aforesaid counter-acting forces, while controlling other economic and technical parameters that may affect. The underlying interplay of the forces and the resultant impact on productivity thus revealed; may lead to better forecasting and evaluation of future potential of mineral assets.
