Colombian PhD scholarship opportunities together with ICETEX

The Graduate School of Natural Resources Law, Policy & Management is pleased to announce the establishment of up to two PhD scholarships financed jointly with ICETEX (Instituto Colombiano de Crédito Educativo y Estudios Técnicos en el Exterior, the Colombian public student loan bank). Under an agreement signed between the University of Dundee and ICETEX in 2012, the University has agreed to grant tuition waiver for up to two Colombian PhD students studying at the Graduate School, while ICETEX will pay stipends that cover travel and living expenses in Dundee. The two PhD scholars will be preferably researching in the areas of ‘water law and policy’, and ‘sustainable community development through mining’, broadly defined.

The scholarship scheme is part of the effort to support capacity development in Colombia; as a result, this opportunity is available only to Colombian nationals who meet the academic requirements of the University of Dundee for admission and any administrative and other requirements as will be set by ICETEX.

Potential candidates are free to approach the Graduate School directly for any academic and related issues, but the final decision to award the scholarship will be taken jointly by the Graduate School and ICETEX.
