Christopher Len graduated from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland with a MA Joint Honours degree in Philosophy & Politics. He later went on to pursue a Masters degree from the Peace and Conflict Research Department at Uppsala University in Sweden. Thereafter, he worked for the Silk Road Studies Program based at the same institution.

He later joined the Institute for Security and Development Policy, an independent, non-profit think tank based in Stockholm, Sweden, with a research focus on Asian security and development issues.
