In an increasingly global environment, managing the complexities of mineral investment and development provides challenges for host governments, international institutions, companies, investors, NGOs and all those participating in the sector. The interdisciplinary Mining Programme at CEPMLP provides professionals with the knowledge and skills required to meet these challenges. This is addressed in CEPMLP's theoretical and practical approach, offering professionally relevant qualifications which embrace legal, policy, economic, financial, and management aspects of international mining investment and development. Studying at CEPMLP gives access to our extensive global network of academic and industry contacts and the prospect of working with leading figures in the mineral resources and related industries. In addition to the formal studies the Mining Programme hosts visiting presenters on various mining-related topics, and also engages with companies and mining operations, for students to increase their familiarity with the industry. This includes:

Mining Programme participants have come from a wide variety of backgrounds including the minerals industry, government, non-government and inter-governmental organisations, law firms, business and NGOs. Their previous experience/qualifications include law, geology, engineering, management, economics, academia and consultancy. Alumni of the Mining Programme work in diverse range of countries and organisations including mining company management, government (including at Ministerial level), senior lawyers in private practice and with other organisations, business consultancy and strategy, and academia.
