Mining Research and Resources - Corporate Social Responsibility
John Southalan gave a presentation CSR, the environment, and false advertising laws for a session 'CSR and Our Planet' at the International Bar Association Annual Conference in Buenos Aires, October 2008. The paper looks at difference in social and environmental aspects within Corporate Social Responsibility, and also the applicability of false advertising laws to CSR reports and statements.
The CEPMLP mining team participated in a workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility in the Mining Industry organised jointly with the Department of Social Anthropology and hosted by the Sustainability Institute of the University of St Andrews on 26 September 2008. Members of the School of Accounting and Finance of the University of Dundee also participated.
