A research consortium led by CEPMLP (DoU) has been chosen by EPSRC/ DfID to undertake research in decentralised off-grid electricity generation in South Asia. The consortium has received funding for a five year project and is now seeking to appoint a RA to assist with the project.
Applications are invited for the above position to work with Dr Subhes Bhattacharyya in CEPMLP. Dr. Bhattacharyya is leading a consortium of researchers to develop viable business models for off-grid electricity supply in South Asia through a project funded by the EPSRC and DfID.
The position is available from 1 January 2010. The successful applicant will undertake original research crucial to the success of the project and perform other project-related activities. We are looking for candidates with a strong academic background in decentralized, off-grid systems and preferably with some prior research/ work experience in a related area. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in engineering, economics or any related areas and should be capable of working in an inter-disciplinary environment. Preference will be given to applicants who have published papers in peer-reviewed journals and have work experience in South Asia. This contract is for a fixed term period of 3.5 years.
