The President of Bangladesh (at the advice of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) has appointed CEPMLP PhD alumnus, Dr Salim Mahmud, a Member (Commissioner) of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC). The BERC was established following the model of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in the USA. This Commission (BERC) consists of a Chairman and four Members whose tenure of office is three years.
