CEPMLP Annual Review 2000

Introduction

This is the fourth edition of the Centre of Energy, Petroleum & Mineral Law & Policy Annual Review. From its inception the Annual Review has been a combination of academic excellence and practical relevance. In choosing the articles for this year's Annual Review, the editorial team sought to publish articles that reflect the broad range of programmes offered at the Centre. The articles address issues that are of current relevance to a broad audience in industry, academia and government. The articles make compelling reading on issues relating to the changing environment of the petroleum industry, the world trading system and the interaction between multinational and host states.

I am delighted that we are maintaining the standards of the Centre in producing this year's Annual Review. Due credit for the completion of the project goes to the members of the Editorial Team: Maureen Chitewe, Gonzalo Davila, Henning Matthiesen, Indira Rampaul, and Carlos Quiroz. I would also like to express appreciation for the assistance of the Information Service Manager, Rona Carstairs, for availing us of the experience of the previous groups and her support throughout the project, and to Professor Thomas Waelde, the Executive Director of the Centre whose original idea it was to present the CEPMLP Annual Review.
