BRITISH COUNCIL ADMINISTERED SCHOLARSHIPS

Scotland International Scholarship Scheme

This is part of the Scottish Executive’s Fresh Talent initiative, attracting enterprising students under the age of 35 and with 3-5 years’ work experience to Scotland with the hope that some will stay and work here afterwards. The scholarships have only recently been announced and are not yet well publicised. 22 will be available in Masters programmes of no more than 12 months duration, with preference given to the fields of science, technology and creative industries. The first round of scholarships are targeted at students from China, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The scholarship includes tuition fees and living expenses. A condition of the scholarship is that the University’s tuition fees are discounted by 20%. Applications are made by the student through their local British Council office once they have been accepted by the host institution.
