LL.M. in International Dispute Resolution and Management

(recognised by The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators)

Dispute resolution is increasingly important to professionals within the resources industry. The increasing internationalisation of the sector has led to cross-border disputes, disputes over joint venture agreements, oil & gas contracts, and international technical standards, etc. in addition to managing varying regulatory compliances in different countries

This specialist LL.M. aims to educate students in the theory and practice of international dispute resolution management, from causes to consequences, from prevention to management to settlement. Candidates will learn to recognise potential disputes and to mitigate the risk of disputes through the implementation of well-drafted dispute resolution clauses. Students will also learn how to make use of the various formal and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms available.

This unique study programme in the arena of institutional and ad hoc dispute management and resolution mechanisms is suitable for candidates who are aspiring to the private or public sector in a legal, managerial and/or advisory position involving international business transactions.
