A: It varies with each class. Everyone will be together for the compulsory 3-week Induction Programme. Thereafter, individual class size will vary according to student selection.

Q: When do I choose my modules?
A: During the 3-week Induction Programme, all entrant students will have the opportunity of meeting with an academic member of staff who will advise on module selection. Students will also be advised how and when to register for module assessment.

A: Yes, all 20-credit modules comprise an exam element (normally 30% of the overall assessment).
Q: Can I change my degree specialisation after starting the course?

Q: When do I graduate?
A: At present graduation takes place only once per year in Dundee, normally in June. All eligible candidates will be invited to attend the graduation ceremony in person, although graduands may elect to graduate in absentia. Practical
Q: Where is Dundee and what is it like to live there?
A: Dundee is Scotland’s 4 th largest city and is situated on the east coast beside the estuary of the River Tay. It is easily accessible by rail, road and air and has its own small airport which you can fly directly into from London City Airport. Click here to find out more about this historical city.
Q: Tell me about the University of Dundee
A: The University of Dundee dates back to its foundation as a university college in 1881. Its main strengths today are in teaching and research, reflected in a series of ‘Excellent’ ratings for Teaching Quality Assessment conducted by the Funding Councils. It was voted ‘ Scottish University of the Year 2004/5’ in the Sunday Times University Guide.

Q: What about the University campus?
A: The main campus is fairly compact and is only 10 minutes’ walk from the city centre. The grounds are pleasant and well maintained and there is an on-going campus development programme. Students benefit from a wide range of sports and recreational facilities and the Student Union (DUSA) has recently undergone a £multi-million facelift.
Q: Can I bring my family with me when I come to study?
A: Yes. However, since the University has very limited family accommodation, many students with families prefer to rent privately. In order to do so, it is necessary to be in Dundee to view the accommodation available, sign the lease and pay any deposit due. In practice this process can take some time (say 1-2 weeks minimum) and students are therefore advised to come alone to settle the accommodation issue before arranging for their families to join them.
Q: What about schooling for my children?
A: Dundee City Council’s Education Department will do its best to enrol your children in a school within your ‘catchment area’, (ie, a school which is close to your home address in Dundee). You will need to have a Dundee address before you can apply for a place at school for your child/children.
Q: What about health care?
A: All full-time students and their families are covered by the National Health Service (NHS) for medical treatment including hospitalisation. All students must register with a local GP (doctor). There is a prescription charge for medication prescribed by a doctor (ie medication which is not available over the pharmacy counter) – this charge is currently £5.00 per item.
