Careers Service
The Centre takes the professional development of its students seriously and is the only school within the university to have a dedicated careers adviser located within the school.
The Centre’s Careers Adviser, Eleanor Hennige, is fully qualified and draws on her previous background and experience in legal careers guidance. Eleanor is responsible for advising students and alumni on their career direction as well as liaising with industry professionals in order to ensure that students receive the most up-to-date and relevant information to help drive their careers forward.

Internships & Industry Connections
Although we are unable to guarantee students an internship during their time at The University of Dundee (this responsibility is on each individual student) we are able to offer unique opportunities to our students through our connections. This last year alone saw students undertake internships with international energy companies, environmental organisations and specialist law firms. We can provide you with the tools to maximise the impact of your internship applications.
The Centre has a worldwide reputation and has established itself as a leader in the field of international business transactions and natural resources and energy law and policy. Students from the Centre have entered a diverse range of roles within the energy sector, which provides us with a wealth of experience to draw upon. Our global academic team draw from a wide variety of backgrounds and disciplines allowing an insight into many sectors from legal advice to tax consultancy allowing us to offer links with many fields through this extensive network.
New for 2011/12! CEPMLP Mentoring Scheme
CEPMLP is aware that, in what is currently a very challenging market, it is essential that students have an insight into the workings of the global energy and natural resources industry. The mentoring scheme aims to address the issue of having limited international experience by providing students with a Mentor whose prior experience can benefit them in their own career path.
This is a formal scheme that students must complete an application process. Applications are scored against set criteria and only the most motivated and dedicated students will secure a mentor.
Employer & Industry events
hese run throughout the year and vary from employer presentations to careers fairs and industry conferences.
Students have previously attended the All Energy conference in Aberdeen and students will attend the Offshore Europe Conference this September. CEPMLP works closely with the main University of Dundee careers service in order to offer a programme of employer events throughout the first semester including financial employers, and commercial organisations as well as energy organisations
