Mission

CECHR was established in 2008 to provide a focus for novel interdisciplinary research addressing societal responses to environmental change and promoting sustainability. Our Mission is to establish an internationally recognised centre of excellence into human resilience and sustainability by:-

Undertaking internationally significant research;
Bridging gaps between science, social science and policy perspectives;
Building local, national and international capacity through innovative teaching and consultancy programmes;
Translating research and teaching activities into policies and programmes promoting environmental, economic, health and social well-being.
