Seven Schools and eleven disciplines
The College of Arts & Social Sciences brings together an enormous range of scholarly research, embracing seven Schools and eleven disciplines.
The portfolio ranges from single subject (Law, Psychology, Accounting & Finance) to the strongly interdisciplinary (the Postgraduate School ), to those which are both multi-and interdisciplinary (Social and Environmental Sciences, Humanities, and Education, Social Work and Continuing Education).
Research in the College is extremely diverse in all respects and as these examples suggest, some research is highly abstract some highly practical; much is done by individuals, but much is also done in teams, these being increasingly multi or inter-disciplinary in character.
