Involvement in documentary for the National Geographic channel

Who: Dr Sue Dawson
Dr Sue Dawson’s expertise as a leading tsunami expert in the UK led her being invited to take part in a National Geographic documentary: ‘Stone Age Atlantis’, first aired in April 2010 (see picture). This programme profiled her research into tsunami sediments exposed 10m above sea level in the Shetland Isles. Her appearance was followed by newspaper coverage and invitations to talk with archaeological societies and schools, allowing Sue’s valuable research to reach far beyond the academic sphere.
