Information about the School Tutoring Programme

Q. What is the School Tutoring Programme?

A. As the name suggests, the School Tutoring Programme (STP) offers matriculated University of Dundee students the opportunity to gain work experience in the classroom setting. The School Tutoring Programme was previously known as the Student Tutoring Scheme before the Careers Service took over the running of it in 2007.

The programme typically involves volunteer students (Student Tutors) assisting teachers within nursery, primary or secondary schools for one morning or afternoon per week for approximately 8 weeks (usually between December and April annually).

All students undergo an Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check before visiting the school. Student Tutors do not have to pay for their Disclosure Checks and travel expenses to and from schools will be reimbursed.
