Career Planning Module
The Career Planning Module is a participative and practical module with no exam which is
consistently rated as excellent by students and employers alike. It is delivered by a specialist
team of Careers Service Teaching Fellows and employers who present topics on students career
options and development. Students will take 2 two hour classes per week.
There are two classes
available each Semester.
- Class 1: Tuesdays & Thursdays 10.00 am - 12 noon.
- Class 2: Tuesdays & Thursdays 2.00pm - 4.00pm.
On successful completion it allows students to attain 20 level 2
credits whilst enhancing their career prospects!
The Module covers:
- Self Awareness - Personality and Aptitude
- Opportunity Awareness / Career Choice
- Presentation Skills
- Future Options
- Applications / CVs
- Interview and Selection Training (personalised one to one interview training with an employer)
The course has no examination and is continually assessed in both written and practical
formats.
Registering for Undergraduate Careers Modules
Students will meet with their Adviser of Studies. If interested please phone the Careers Service
on (3)84017. The Careers Service Academic Secretary (Margaret Mather) will check availability on
the course of choice and advise if space is available. If space is available Margaret will add
their details to the list. The Adviser of Studies must then continue to register the student for
the module in their normal manner.
