Modules offered by the Careers Service

The Careers Service offers modules that will not only help you in the future once you leave university, but also carry academic credit. These modules are offered at Level 2.

More information

What modules do you offer?

The Careers Service offers three modules - the Career Planning Module, Internship Module and Career Planning Online.

The Career Planning Module, which is offered in both the autumn and spring semesters, gives students an insight into their own careers profile and options and helps them develop skills in presentations, CVs, applications and interview techniques. The course is taught by Careers Adviser tutors with contributions from key graduate employers.

The Internship module aims to boost your employability by allowing you to apply for an internship placement (a total of 30 hours throughout the semester). Interactive seminars will teach you about career planning and the world of work. Placements are competitive so you must be prepared to produce a high quality application form and attend an interview before the module starts. You must be able to commit fully to a 30-hour internship placement and approach your placement with a professional attitude.

We also offer 2 modules to Business Management students - Career Planning for Business Management in year 1 and Internship Module for Business Management in year 2.

We also offer a Graduate Certificate in Internships - click on SIGC above to find out more. to find out more.
