Raising your profile within the University

With a target student and staff population as noted above the University Careers Service offers a central point where you can get involved and raise the profile of your organisation.

You can:

• Speak to a group of students about what life is like in your industry or indeed the vacancies you may have.
• Take a Stand at our Annual Careers Fair, Postgraduate Fair, Law Fair and Volunteering Fair.
• Get involved with Student groups and help them in interactive discussions relating to important career choices and issues, including CVs, applications and interviews.
• Sponsor a booklet, leaflet or promotional item e.g. pens, in partnership with the Careers Service.
• Place your graduate, work experience and part time vacancies with us free of charge.
• Get involved with our accredited Career Planning Module.
• Offer some work experience or give a student the opportunity to interview you or shadow you for a short time to find out what life is like in your industry.
• Get involved with our accredited Internship Module and offer a 30 hour placement over 10 weeks.
• Use the Careers Service to make contact with Academic Schools. Host your recruitment interviews and events in our offices and seminar room.
• Get involved in training Careers Service staff about the reality of working in your specialist field.
