DLHE (Destination of Leavers from Higher Education) is a survey of all UK and EU, first and higher degree graduates who are asked for details of what they are doing approximately six months after graduation. Every institution in the UK has a statutory duty to collect destination information on its graduates and to report back to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) who publish summary reports for all the UK Higher Education Institutions.
The data also forms the basis of national league tables on graduate employability and is a key tool on assessing the accountability of funding policies for students and their places of education. HESA ask that institutions meet a target response level of at least 80% of home i.e. UK domiciled leavers who studied full-time; 70% of home students who studied part-time and 50% of all other EU students.
It should be highlighted that the survey captures destination data 6 months after graduation and in many cases does not reflect what our graduates have gone on to do in the longer term . The DLHE Longitudinal survey which is underway at present aims to further investigate graduate activity and to find out what graduates have been doing, over a longer period of time, since completing their studies.
More details about the DLHE process, including statistical information can be found by visiting the HESA website.
Statistical information can also be found by visiting Unistats.
Unistats is the official website which will help you compare subjects
at universities and colleges in the UK. This site brings together authoritative,
official information in one place, in a way that is not available on
any other website.
