The Careers Service offers three modules - the Career Planning Module, Internship Module and Career Planning Online.
The Career Planning Module, which is offered in both the autumn and spring semesters, gives students an insight into their own career profile and options and helps them develop skills in presentations, CVs, applications and interview techniques. The course is taught by Careers Adviser tutors with contributions from key graduate employers.
The Internship module aims to boost your employability by allowing you to apply for an internship placement (a total of 30 hours throughout the semester). Interactive seminars will teach you about career planning and the world of work. Placements are competitive so you must be prepared to produce a high quality application form and attend an interview before the module starts. You must be able to commit fully to a 30-hour internship placement and approach your placement with a professional attitude.
We also offer an Internship Graduate Certificate - find out more here.
Modules are open to all students in the university, typically at level 2, where their degree pathway allows. In some vocational degree areas there may be limited opportunity to take these modules.
If you are a BSc Business Management student and want to find out more about the Career modules available to you, please consult your students handbook or a member of staff.
