Centre for Archive & Information Studies Continuing Professional Development Course Descriptions

The Centre for Archive and Information Services offers a range of tutor supported short part-time distance learning courses which can be taken for continuing professional development. These are aimed at archivists, records managers, compliance officers and other information professionals who wish to Keep up to date with new standards, theories and methodologies Upgrade practical skills Acquire new skills Exchange knowledge and experiences with fellow professionals Learn how to deal with new technologies Understand how to comply with legislation affecting the sector Reach out to new users and communities Apply organisational and management skills to their work Click here for a full list of the courses September 2013 Semester Closing date for CPD applications is the 12th July, 2013. The semester starts on the 16th September, 2013. January 2014 Semester Closing date for CPD applications is the 8th November, 2013. The semester starts on the 13th January, 2014. The courses are accredited by the Archives and Records Association (UK and Ireland) and subject to the quality assurance framework of the School of Humanities of the University of Dundee. If you wish to enrol you should have an active interest in the topic, be able to spend around 15 hours a week thinking and studying and have broadband internet access.
