Profile

Craig is CAIS Administrator having joined the department in February 2010. He manages and develops the administrative functions necessary for the successful operation of CAIS through such duties as co-ordinating the implementation of CAIS strategic direction and policy, being responsible for co-ordinating contact between students, tutors and CAIS staff, and ensuring the successful operation of CAIS programmes. Craig is a member of the Society of Archivists having gained his MSc (Information Management and Preservation) from the University of Glasgow in 2005. Following that he undertook three years of doctoral study into the philosophy that underpins the practice of archives and records management, culminating in a thesis entitled 'The Fantasy of the Corroborative and Transformative Archive: The Authority of Archival Beginnings'. He will be graduating in the summer of 2010. Previously Craig has been employed as Assistant Archivist at the Shetland Archives (March 2009-February 2010) and as an Archives Assistant at the University of Strathclyde (2003-2004) and Ayrshire Archives (2004-2005).
