The achievements of students at the School of Business were marked at a Graduation Party and Prizegiving Ceremony on the 16th November 2011. A total of 38 honours were conferred on students at the event, which took place at the Bonar Hall. Among the prizewinners were five Masters students who received their degrees during the University's Winter Graduation ceremony at the Caird Hall that morning. The afternoon party allowed the prizewinners to celebrate their awards with family, friends and classmates. Professor Christine Helliar, Dean of the School of Business, noted that the event would be attended by several of the employers that the School enjoys close relationships with. 'This is an important final event for our students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, before they embark on their professional careers,' she said.'Many of our graduands have already found jobs in accounting, finance and other sectors and we look forward to hearing from them in the future and to share their successes. We are delighted that the prize sponsors are able to join us on this special occasion - they help us encourage good performance and acknowledge the success of our students.'
Alan Trotter, Finance Director at Alliance Trust, presented several of the awards at the ceremony. Representatives of other employers attending the event included Lauren McIlroy, Senior Associate (Audit) at Deloittes, Jenny Law, HR and Training Manager at eQ Chartered Accountants, and George Hay, partner at Henderson Loggie.
