Delegation from Chuo University in Tokyo visits the School of Business.

Professor Nobuhiko Sugiura and his colleagues Ms Yui Morikawa from Chuo University in Tokyo visited the School of Business on 14th and 15th February. Professor Sugiura is the Associate Dean of Graduate School of Strategic Management which is one of the three professional graduate schools of Chuo University

Professor Sugiura, was appointed to his current post after having served as a senior researcher at the Financial Services Agency of Japan and as the senior legal advisor at J.P. Morgan Securities. He currently acts as an Academic Panel member of the International Centre for Financial Regulation (ICFR) in London. Dr Richard Reid, Research Director of the ICFR and Honorary Senior Research Fellow in Economic Studies at Dundee, accompanied Professor Sugiura in his visit.

Professor Montagna, Deputy Dean of the School of Business, says: "Professor Sugiura, who met staff of three of CASS Schools (Business, Law, and the Graduate School of Natural Resources Law, Policy and Management schools) while in Dundee, was impressed by what he saw of the University and by the quality and breadth of our programmes; he was keen to explore the forging of collaborative links, particularly in the area of International Business, Finance, and Law. The Graduate School of Strategic Management at Chuo offers an interesting suite of degrees that integrate business, marketing, human resource management and corporate legal issues, with a strong professional emphasis. A collaboration with Chuo University would offer valuable opportunities for us - both by facilitating staff exchanges and research opportunities and by enabling us to expand the international reach and the attractiveness of our taught postgraduate programmes".

Professor Sugiura is planning a follow up visit in the Autumn.
