Botanic Garden Volunteer Application Form

We are always keen to encourage volunteers to assist the Garden staff with various tasks. Sometimes the tasks are repetitive and physically demanding.

We have two areas where we are seeking volunteers to assist the staff:

1. Working in the Garden
   A certain level of fitness is required, stout footwear and outdoor clothing are essential.
   Duties include potting, planting, ground clearing, weeding and lots more. All tools and equipment are provided by the Botanic Garden.
   Times available – Monday to Thursday 9am – 12.30pm or 1.30pm – 4pm (whole days can be possible).
2. Helping on the reception desk
   The desk is staffed daily, including weekends, from 10am to 4.30pm. This is normally the first point of contact for anyone visiting the Garden.
   Duties include cash handling, use of cash register & credit card machine and also directing visitor enquiries to the appropriate members of staff etc.
   The rota consists of two shifts – 10am – 1pm or 1pm – 4.30pm (from 1st November to 1st March closing times 3.30pm).
