The Botanic Garden is an ideal place for you to hold your function in a great setting close to the heart of the City.

We have a range of options within the garden listed below. You can also download our Private Hire Booklet . Please contact us to discuss your requirements with us whether it is for a Wedding, Family Party or Corporate Event.

Our exclusive caterer and event co-ordinator is the Botanic Garden Coffee Shop.

This is a lovely wooden building close to the Visitors Centre. It is open plan with great atmosphere.

Type of functions:  Meeting Room, Birthday Parties, Small Exhibitions

Glasshouse

A unique venue to hold a Reception with that ‘wow’ factor giving a lovely ambience when lit at night.

Type of function:   Drinks Receptions, Finger Buffets, Mix & Mingle

Numbers: 80 maximum

Availability: All Year after Garden closing time – Exclusive use

Cost: £500 plus VAT

Marquee Site (Hired Marquee)

The area for this is usually behind the large glasshouse close to the car parking, the toilets and a source of power. We could discuss other areas within the Garden.

Type of function: Weddings, Receptions, Prizegivings, Corporate Functions, Parties etc

Numbers: 150 

Availability: April to September

Cost:  Facilities fee £500 plus VAT

Garden Marquee and Small Gazebos

The garden owns 3 Mini Marquees and a traditional canvas marquee 

Mini Marquee (3 metre x 3 metre)    3 available  - sides option 

Garden Marquee (20 feet x 40 feet), a traditional canvas marquee with no flooring therefore it is only suitable for "mix & mingle" gatherings.

Numbers: 50

Availability: Not available between October and April

Cost: Facilities fee and use of Marquee £600.00 plus VAT

Mini Marquees: £60.00 plus VAT

Small Log Cabin

This is a small cabin in the heart of the Garden

Type of function: Rustic Children's Parties (including outside area around Cabin)

Numbers: Max 10 inside.

Availability: April - September

Cost: Half day cost - £25.00 plus VAT

A small registrar table & 2 chairs provided.                

Type of function:   Small Outdoor Wedding Ceremonies, etc

Numbers: Maximum 150

Visitor Centre

Although the Visitor Centre is used for artists displaying their works, the space can be used outside normal opening hours.

Type of function: Drinks Receptions

Numbers:  30 maximum

Availability:  All Year – 4.30pm  to 9.30pm

Cost: £150.00 plus VAT

Type of function: BBQ’s, Photographic Activity, Corporate Launches, Wedding Ceremonies, Outdoor Theatre, Garden Plays, Art Exhibits

Cost:  On Application  (minimum cost £200.00 plus VAT)

Botanic Garden Coffee Shop

Type of function:   This is an ideal venue for functions out with normal business hours, with either the choice of table service or buffet style meals

Numbers:  Minimum 20 Maximum 50

Availability:  All Year

Noise

As we are in a residential area we are very conscious of how noise will affect our neighbours, as a result we do not encourage functions which have amplified music after 8pm.
