Teaching and Research Support
Dundee University Archive Services is part of the School of Humanities and administers the MLitt and MSc (by distance learning) programmes from the Centre for Archive and Information Studies. Archive Services also offers teaching and research support to students and researchers from both this university and other institutions. History students at Dundee University are encouraged as early as first year to visit the archives and thus familiarise themselves with the department and the use of original material. Items from the archives are used in History department modules and by students conducting research.
"The University Archives provides a major resource in support of teaching and learning in history.
The impressive facilities and range of archival resources are combined with commendable
development strategies for extending the collection and improving access, including the use of
digitisation and the integration of archival resources and staff expertise into the delivery of the
history curriculum is an exemplary feature of provision."
