Photographic Collections
Among the main photographic collections in the Department of Archives
and Manuscripts are the Manuscript Collection Photographs, the Torrance
Collection (which is part of the latter), the Records Photographs, and the
CMS Photographs, in addition to the extensive Peto Collection.
The Manuscript Photographs are the photographs and transparencies
which
form part of individual collections within the manuscript collection. They
form the bulk of the main photographic database, which can be viewed in
the Archives' Search Room.
The Records Photographs belong to the University and College Records,
and most are in the same database as the Manuscript Photographs.
The CMS Photographs were deposited by Central Media Services (now Media
Services) and belong to the record collection. These are in a separate
database called "CMS Photographs".
The Torrance Collection consists of the photographs, postcards and
transparancies deposited by the Torrance family, and relates to missionary
work in Tiberias.
We have occasional Photo Exhibitions around the
offices...
