Talyllyn Railway Special
On 14 May 1951 the first trains ran on the Talyllyn Railway since it had been preserved as a heritage railway. Talyllyn was the first railway in the world to be preserved and operated by volunteers. These photographs of the Tallyllyn Railway Special taking people to the Railway itself are from a series of images of the occasion taken by Michael Peto in 1957.
