Biography

I graduated from Interior and Environmental design here at Duncan of Jordanstone in Dundee, with a first class honours degree in 2005. Since then I have been working full time in the school of Architecture, teaching students how to make architectural models, furniture and sculpture.

A workshop can be a very dangerous place and because of this every architecture student receives a thorough workshop safety induction and instruction on all the machines, devices and tools available to them in the workshop. The larger cutting machines are operated only by the qualified technicians like myself, on behalf of the student.

Year 2 of the course has a distinct theme of 'making' and their shelter/sitooterie projects have been especially rewarding projects to have assisted on. I give advice on materials, connections, shape and form working closely with studio staff to realise the students designs.

Architecture students at all levels know me to be approachable and helpful.
