Background and Teaching

Helen O'Connor is a Senior Lecturer and registered Architect who originally joined the staff as a studio design tutor in 1994. During that time she has taught at all levels in the design studio, has lectured in architectural communications and technology, and run seminar units in architectural humanities.

Over the past five years she has been primarily responsible for the upper school as MArch Part 2 programme leader, teaching in year 4 design studio, acting as year 5 leader and running a fourth year design research unit and fifth year thesis unit: "Material" with part time staff member Fergus Purdie.

She takes an active interest in architectural pedagogy, acting as an external examiner for the Part 2 courses at the Universities of Portsmouth and Greenwich and as a lead examiner for the Architects Registration Board Part 1 and 2 Examinations.
