American Studies at the University of Dundee is one of the oldest interdisciplinary programmes in Scotland, having been established in
1975. Dundee is the only Scottish University to offer a Joint Honours Degree in American Studies. Our
courses deal with the issues of importance to today's students such as gender issues, race and ethnic relations,
economic and political conditions, as well as exploring the impact of popular culture on the development of American society. American studies students at Dundee have the opportunity to study in the United States or Canada as well as having top scholars and visiting guests share with you their experiences and culture of America.
