Yusuf Maina Bakur

Yusuf, from Nigeria, graduated with an MSc in Advanced Sustainability of the Built Environment in 2010.

Gaining admission to the University of Dundee was a dream come true. Thanks to Miss Susannah Kett and Dr Husam Al-Waer who have been kind and helpful throughout the whole admissions process. I really felt honoured for being among the pioneer students, loved the diversity of my course mates and the serenity of the City of Dundee.

The course was very helpful, and the time spent during the course will remain one of the best periods in my life. I enjoyed the seminars, the workshops and the trips held. And I really appreciate the openness of the student/lecturer relationship because I have learned a lot from my supervisor Prof. David Kirk.

I am now a Town Planning Officer at my home State and I will like to seize this opportunity to advice anyone with an interest in Sustainable Development more especially Planners and Architects to go for the course. It will surely give them a new perspective and understanding of sustainability of the built environment.
