Yue Xu from Zhenjiang, China studied for a Master of Design 2009-10
"I graduated in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture in Nanjing Forestry University in China. I studied for a Masters in Design 2009-10. My project, 'Smiling Neighbours' aims to promote community cohesion in residential areas through promoting the tradition of gardening and creating attractive outdoor spaces. And I established a community garden (Garden of Unity) with neighbours just off Blyth Street supported by the city council; it is a start point to get people involved, get the views from residents and facilitate the process of concerning living environment.
I think the arrangement of the modules is a great help for our step by step study process in three semesters. The specific aims of different modules help clarify the methods and research questions. The tutorial and advisor give us a good guidance of our work.
Dundee is a peaceful space. It is suit to concentrate on our study and convenience for living. And the people here are really friendly and enthusiastic."
