Virginia, from Madrid, Spain, is studying for a BSc in Digital Interaction Design.
Because it's one of the few Universities in the world that offer a degree in Interaction Design.
We are not a huge group of students so that give us the opportunity of knowing each other quite well. The lecturers and the studio manager are very professional and you can learn a lot from them.
I think there's a lot of information available for them on the course's website. But besides that, during the application process you have an interview where you can ask all the questions you have. You can email if you have more questions and even have the possibility to contact a current student by email as well.
For one of our projects we worked with real people. That was our first brief where we had to design for someone specifically and not for ourselves or for a hypothetical client and the experience was really good. The chance of having this kind of brief taught me a lot.
I can't think of one particular experience because there's been so many good things! I would say meeting new people from different places and countries and hanging out with them.
It was quite ok. I decided not stay in halls so I was afraid of living in private accommodation without knowing the city or the people but it was fine. Dundonians are quite friendly. I would say they're used to students and they're always happy to help, at least in my experience.
Ask as many questions as you have before you arrive.
There's loads of information and help of any kind available on campus so don't worry. Attend the Welcome Week, it's a great opportunity to learn a bit more about how the University works and what it has to offer (don't forget to attend the societies fair). You will meet a lot of people at the beginning, almost everyone is new in town.
I find everything I need in supermarkets, and there's also a lot of shops, pubs, restaurants, cinemas, etc.
The weather is quite ok. It rains, obviously, it couldn't be so green if it didn't but it's not as bad as I thought it would be, you have cities close to Dundee where it rains a lot more. And you see the sun quite often, what they say about Dundee being the sunniest city in Scotland must be true!
For me it wasn't a problem at all setting into life here.
