Vinesh Jawahar

Vinesh, from Chennai, India, graduated with a MBA in International Oil & Gas Management in the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) in 2011.

"Born and brought up in Chennai (India), I am an engineer and graduated in 2005 with a Mechanical Bachelor's.

After graduating I got the opportunity to train in Plant Design System (PDS(TM)) software, which features expanded capabilities for integrated 3D modeling of offshore oil and gas structures. The tool is used widely used in the Oil and Gas Industry for creating the 3D model of the project which is very helpful in getting outputs with less effort.

I then joined Technip Chennai as a Piping PDS modeler, and then joined L&T Valdel Engg. Bangalore, in November 2006 as Piping design engineer.

In January 2010, I came to CEPMLP at the University of Dundee. Since joining the MBA programme in Dundee I have taken part in a business simulation exercise, as well as taking modules in: Strategic Management & Organisational Analysis, Business Strategy in the Extractive Industries and Project Management which includes hands on training in Primavera the Industry standard Project Management Software.

In May 2010, I took part in an Energy focused careers event when I had the opportunity to speak with Energy Professionals, including an Indian National working for Schlumberger in Aberdeen. I am currently re-working my CV prior to starting a search for a career in the International Energy Industry."
