Why did you choose to study at Dundee University?

Dundee University is one of the best universities in the UK in Life Sciences and in addition, top-rated research is being carried out in the Wellcome Trust Building. This combination made me choose to study here.

What is the best thing about your course and why?

Not only molecular genetics but I think all life science degrees are of interest. Since new things are being discovered every day, learning never ends. Also I find all the world around us amazing as I get to know how everything works.

What information do applicants need to know before starting this course?

Applicants need to be sure that they really enjoy subjects such as biology, chemistry and biochemistry.

What has been your best university experience to date and why?

The honours project that I am currently carrying out is the best university experience since it involves working in the lab for long hours, independent thinking and designing experiments, as well as reading related literature.

What was your experience of settling into life in Dundee when you first arrived?

The first year was the most challenging one since English is my second language and I was foreign to the culture. But I started to enjoy Dundee as soon as I got used to the city and made some friends.

Do you have any advice for potential new students?

I think the University of Dundee is one of the best places to study with its highly qualified academic and research staff. The campus and the city offer a quiet, organised and fun university life for the students. Any potential students should definitely choose Dundee!
