Stephen Anderson, from Dundee, hopes to graduate in 2012 with a BA in Social Work.
I chose to study at Dundee because of the reputation of the Social Work programme - I'd heard that it was both well-structured and respected. Before applying though, you need to really consider whether social work is for you. Background knowledge of Social Sciences is also an advantage, but not essential.
Now I'm here, I've found that the content of the course is very interesting and it is easy to see how important it is and how it can be applied in practice. The tutors are very supportive too. I've enjoyed learning about myself and how my thought patterns are being altered in a very positive way.
With regards to the programme, placements give students the chance to put what they have learned into practice. So far, I've taken part in two work placements.
