Why did you choose to study at Dundee University?

As a mature student and single parent who lived in Dundee, there was no option to go elsewhere.

What are your immediate plans after graduation?

I have a part time job which will allow me to continue to paint. I would ideally like to get my work into galleries and to sell it. I plan to get around as many galleries as possible.

What are your longer term career plans (if any)?

I would ideally like to move away, but that will all depend on the next few months. It's tough times just now and I really have no idea how my work will be received.

What information do you think applicants need to know before starting this course?

It's harder work than people realise! If you want to get as much as possible out of the course you really do have to put a lot of work into it. Find the tutors who can relate to your work and try not to be put off by any negative feedback. It's your work and your decision, stick to your guns!

What was the most enjoyable thing about your degree and why?

I've learnt so much, particularly in the last year and a half, I can't believe how far I've advanced since first year, however, I still feel like I have so much to learn. Seeing my finished work up in my space for the Degree Show was quite emotional. I've also met so many amazing people, you really do need a lot of support to get you through it.

What was your best university experience and why?

I think first year was the best so far..... I loved all the different things we got to do, getting to know the people in my class and the trip to London.

However, I'm really excited about the Degree Show and Graduation....

Did you taken part in any student exchanges/work placements?

I volunteered for Tayside Healthcare Arts Trust in my final year which is something I also intend to continue.

Do you have any advice for potential new students?

It's a great opportunity! Work hard and enjoy.
