Why did you choose to study at Dundee University?

There were heaps of factors which led to me becoming a part of this prestigious university. The quality of education, services for international students, and the high career placement rate for example. One of the key factors that pulled me here was the consistent high ranking and great reputation in the field of civil engineering over the past several years. The direct entry into second level and even-handed scholarship grabbed my attention towards this rather than any other university in India or in the UK.

How has your experience been so far?

In terms of experience, I might just run out of words. Everything in this world gives you an experience of life. It depends on how you take that experience forward and the way you execute it. Dundee University not only encourages me to be academically strong but also causes me to be a better person in life. I stood in the University's elections and now I'm the president of the school of Engineering, Physics and Mathematics. Giving speeches and sitting in meetings has boosted my leadership quality, the approachability towards others and certainly the inner confidence in me which indirectly aids me to be a better construction manager which I desire to pursue after the completion of my course.

What is the best thing about being at Dundee?

Dundee is a peaceful city and it's away from the hustle and bustle that I have experienced in Delhi, the capital city of India. That is indeed the best part of being here.

What activities have you undertaken while being here?

I have always been keen on my toes to undertake activities and to show my involvement in various sports. I am currently part of the University of Dundee Indian Society, the International Society and the Dance club. The participation in these activities has helped me heaps in grooming my overall personality. Not to mention my part time job as a photographer has certainly built me and I've learnt a lot from working.

What is your message to prospective students who are confused about making a choice between so many different options?

I have felt in my one year of stay at this university, that along with being top ranked in most courses, it gives me the perfect balance between international exposure and a homely atmosphere. Perhaps I cannot put that into better words so I'll just stick to it. THINK - APPLY - DECIDE.
