Shanmugananda

Shanmugananda, from India, graduated in 2009 with an MSc in Concrete Engineering & Environmental Management, and now works as a graduate engineer.

"Having seen that the University of Dundee was top in Scotland for Civil Engineering, I met with one of the Faculty members who was visiting India.

I decided to take the MSc course because today civil engineers must have a particular knowledge of sustainable construction materials and environmental impact.

I really enjoyed being part of the University of Dundee, it has a world class reputation and is currently 3rd in the UK for Civil Engineering. Dundee is a small cosmopolitan city but has lots going on; it is one of the most cost effective places to stay in the UK.

I am now working as a graduate engineer in the UK with Mott MacDonald, one of the largest consulting engineering companies in the world. My degree has been very relevant to my work as my job is diverse, ranging from assessing repair strategies for bridges to carrying out environmental impact assessments for new construction projects."
