Shabari Shaily, from India, graduated with an MSc in Advanced Sustainability of the Built Environment.

I had a keen interest in the subject of sustainability since the second year of my undergraduate degree in Architecture and to explore the breadth and depth of the field I took a step forward to apply for a Masters degree in various UK universities, which have a reputation in research and development in the arena of sustainable development. Being accepted by the School of Architecture, University of Dundee in the course MSc Advanced Sustainability of the Built Environment proved to be an excellent opportunity in all respects.
The curriculum for the course is holistic in its approach to the subject matter and gives you a wider panoramic vision to the sustainable development. One of the prominent aspects of this course is the faculty, which is highly experienced and represent different subject backgrounds, thus providing you with different perspectives for one issue and allowing you to make your own analysis and judgement that is highly significant for the success of any Postgraduate student. The study material provided was extremely useful for the research work and the classroom environment was highly engaging with a relaxed environment.
I consider it as a positive step forward since it has amplified my thoughts on the subject. I would strongly recommend this course to all those aspirants who are interested to explore a wider spectrum of sustainability beyond the conventional principles.
As a next step in my career, I am planning to join organisations working in the field of sustainable design and green building assessments including Indian Green Building Council; and the opportunities offered, to participate in various events/workshops, organised as a part of the MSc programme has largely enhanced my resume.
