Rob Sharp graduated with BSc (Hons) Applied Computing with Digital Microelectronics in 2001.
I graduated with a BSc (Hons) Applied Computing with Digital Microelectronics and now work for Yahoo! in Australia.
Barely a day goes by that I don't use skills learnt from my time at the Department of Applied Computing (now School of Computing).
My degree has provided me with an uncommonly broad toolset that make it easier for me collaborate with project members from other disciplines, particularly those with backgrounds in user interaction, who are often surprised that a software engineer has sound knowledge of usability principles. The professional skills taught in the last year of the Honours course are also particularly useful.
The course truly prepares you for working in the software industry which, combined with the departments fantastic research projects, makes the School of Computing an excellent choice.
