Pawel Jurczak, from Poland, graduated with a degree in Contemporary European Studies and now works in event management.
I am currently based in Warsaw where I run my management office. I do various music projects - PR, concert/event management - and I work with a few top Polish music acts.
Personally, I have to say that this degree was a perfect choice! Studying European Studies outside Poland among other international students couldn't have been a better lifetime experience. It helped me develop my communication skills, and boost my confidence and cultural awareness. All these factors count a lot in my current job.
Last year in June I was lucky to have been invited by CNN International to speak about how Poland has changed since the fall of communism in 1989. They were really interested to present my experience in comparison to what my mother had gone through before 1989.
I guess once you live abroad and when you look at different socio-political aspects from a different angle, you begin to appreciate cultural diversity.
