Oscar Lozano

Oscar, from Mexico, graduated with a MSc in Design Ethnography in 2011. Here is what he says about his time at Dundee:

"Coming to the University of Dundee is an opportunity I'm glad I took. Before coming here the idea of living in the UK by myself was a little bit intimidating, but once I got here, it was surprisingly easy to settle down. It's a very safe city and people here in Dundee are really friendly. A lot of them are students, so making new friends is not difficult at all. Voted one of UK's best, the Student Union is a place where you'll find yourself partying often. There's also a great variety of different student clubs and societies you can join and even special events for international students, making this university very student-friendly.

Faculty members have been incredibly helpful at all times, even before I even applied. I got to talk to the Design Ethnography program director through Skype where she showed much disposition to answer all of my questions regarding the course and the city. I also had some issues with my visa and the people from the Admissions office were very helpful, guiding me through them.

The University of Dundee offers a great deal of very specialised programs you won't find anywhere else. That, I think, is their biggest asset. Overall, I've had a great year so far here in Dundee. It's a decision I have never regretted."
