Margot Einheber

Margot, from Paris, France, spent a year at Dundee studying Law, as part of the Erasmus programme.

Why did you choose to study at Dundee University?

I really wanted to discover Scotland and had heard good things about the University. Also, I thought it was more interesting to be in an English speaking country. I had a good feeling about this University.

What was the best thing about your course and why?

I really appreciated the atmoshpere and the ambiance during the classes. It was really nice to learn and work in small groups in which we all knew each other. The classes were different from France but really interesting!

What information do you think applicants need to know before starting this course?

It might be hard to understand everything at first as the Law system is different from France, the terms employed might be unknown for us and the way classes are done is different.

What has been your best learning experience to date and why?

Both classes I had - Justice Law and Human Rights, Private International Law - were very interesting! I learnt things in a way I think I will never find again.

What has been your best university experience to date and why?

One of the best things is to live on the campus to be close to the buildings your classes are in and to enjoy the student life (ambiance and parties) at the University.

What sports activities or clubs/societies (if any) are you involved with?

I was involved in some of the gym classes such as step and zumba which were very nice.

What was your experience of settling into life in Dundee when you first arrived?

It is a bit hard at first as you don't know anything about the city when you arrive. But this quickly changes as Dundee is a very pleasant city to live in where you can access every shop or service quite easily.

Enjoy your experience as much as you can and discover the beautiful country Scotland is!

How did you find settling into life in the UK?

This has been quite easy for me. People are really helpful and nice in anything you could need. This might also be because everything seems easier to understand and to do in the UK than in France and is also better organized.
