Why did you choose to study at Dundee University?

I chose Dundee University because of its excellent reputation and superb location.

What is the best thing about your course and why?

The best thing about my course is the variety of different modules and their combinations. It's given me an opportunity to choose the subjects I am most interested in. I've learned much more than I expected. The course is very interesting as teaching methods involve not only reading books but also watching films, for example, searching and analyzing official documents or discussions. This course provides students with a good opportunity to learn about different cultures and societies. It has not only developed my knowledge but also widened my horizon in terms of thinking and improved my job prospects. In addition, the teaching staff are extremely helpful and friendly. There is always assistance available - just ask!

Have you taken part in any student exchanges/work placements?

Dundee University provides not only the theoretical knowledge but practical experience too. In my second year I undertook a work placement with Dundee University Student Recruitment and Admissions. I have learned not only about the university from the inside but I also developed new skills and gained experience in the marketing field.

What information do you think applicants need to know before starting this course?

Before starting this course I thought I knew what the European Union is and what international relations apply. Now I realise I knew nothing!

What was your experience of settling into life in Dundee when you first arrived?

Dundee University provides students with everything they need. From the Freshers' week with various informational and social events, a variety of social and sport clubs, to the advice from the careers service and continuing teaching and guidance support.

What has been your best university experience to date and why?

Dundee University played a major role in developing my personal and academic skills. I improved my English skills, increased confidence and made some really good friends.

Do you have any advice for potential new students?

Dundee University is the best place to be. No matter what you look for - the best place to study or the best time during your studies. You will find it all here.
